After several successful years of growth for the girls football section, it is now time for further growth on and off the pitch for the football girls… and ladies of Southwell.

The girls section of Southwell City FC is now in a position where it can offer organised football to girls from the age of 6 through to 16 years of age. The club has begun preparation to offer football in Southwell and the surrounding areas to all women aged 16+ with the creation of a women’s team for the 2023/24. For further information, please contact Sven Richards on 07818274336 or at [email protected]. Training for the women’s team will start this coming Spring.

As well as expansion on the pitch. Southwell City FC girls section is aiming to introduce more female coaches within its ranks. This was kick started on Sun 22nd January with several girls getting together to complete their ‘EE Playmaker by England Football’ coaching award, kickstarting their coaching journeys. The weekend was successful with a total of 13 girls successfully completing their coaching award. The girls will then be aiming to complete the next level of coaching badges within the next 2 years. Enabling them the confidence and know how to deliver inspiring and engaging coaching lessons to the next generation of female footballers at Southwell City FC.
