Southwell City FC Under 12 Girls have a new shirt sponsor for season 2018-19 thanks to the generosity of one of the player’s parents, Richard Harris of Chem Dry Central. The age group now has two teams, named the Cavaliers and the Roundheads to reflect the history of the civil war in Southwell.
The Roundheads in their first full season have just won promotion to the first division with the Cavaliers hoping to follow them soon, after narrowly missing out in the autumn
Richard’s daughter Lois plays for the Cavaliers and is their top scorer this season. He has graciously bought shirts, shorts and socks for all 25 players across both squads. His company Chem Dry Central have been providing superior carpet & upholstery cleaning services to Southwell, Newark & surrounding areas for over 20 years. For a free no obligation quotation call 01636 499573 or visit www.chemdrycentral.com
The team are also financially supported by a parent of one of the Roundheads team, Julian Benton of The Earl of Chesterfield Public House on Manor Lane, Shelford. His daughter Olivia ‘Grape’ Benton is one of the joint captains of the team and Julian has generously hosted events at his pub in order to raise funds for the teams to help buy team equipment.
The Earl of Chesterfield is a great family pub near the banks of the Trent and bookings can be made by calling 0115 9332227 or visiting www.theearlofchesterfield.co.uk
Both teams are always on the lookout for new players (as are the under 11s) so if you’re in year 5, 6 or 7 and want to give football a try at our training sessions on Mondays & Thursdays please contact the Cavalier’s Coach Chris Barnes on 07870928233 or [email protected]. In fact the club has teams for girls of all ages from key stage 1 right through to seniors.
