New Training Kit for City U15 Girls

Southwell City FC Under 15 girls have recently acquired new shirts to be used for training and as an away kit in support of Prostate Cancer UK.

The shirts were partly funded by a sponsored bag-pack the girls undertook at Morrisons in Newark, along with contributions from his family in memory of Colin Barnes, a grandfather of one of the team, who was taken prematurely by this insidious disease.

It is hoped that fathers, uncles, grandfathers and anyone else seeing the Prostate Cancer logo on their shirts might be motivated into finding out how to spot the early signs of the illness that might ultimately save their lives. More information can be found by visiting https://prostatecanceruk.org/ where those interested in supporting the ongoing battle against this illness can make a donation.

1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime, it’s the second most common diagnosed cancer with the disease being the 5th highest cause of cancer related death in men. If you would like to make a donation, please make it in memory of Colin Barnes so that Prostate Cancer UK can gauge the impact wearing the shirts has had.

The team are in the process of procuring a new home kit, thanks to the generosity of their new sponsor, Buckley Brown Estate Agents from Mansfield, which will display the Prostate Cancer UK logo on its sleeve for even greater exposure of the organisation and the valuable work they do.
