Vacancy – Reserve Team Manager (Step 7)

Southwell City is looking for an enthusiastic manager/coach to take the reins of the men’s reserve team, which is currently playing in the NSL Premier Division (Step 7).

The successful candidate will be invited to shadow the current reserve team manager for the rest of this season, before taking charge when he steps down at the end of the 23/24 season.

The team is having a good season. They currently sit in the top half of the table and are in the semi-finals of the Notts Senior Cup. We are looking for a manager that can continue to build on the progress that has been made so far.

Whoever comes in will play an important role in supporting player transition from the reserves to the first team (Step 6) and from our development team (Step 8). They will become part of a tight-knit senior management team that works together for the benefit of the club and the players who play for it.

Ideally, the candidate will have at least a Level 2 coaching qualification (UEFA C). However, support will be given to the right candidate if they are not currently qualified to this level.

This is a volunteer role.

Current reserve team manager, Brett Bramwell, had this to say about the opportunity at Southwell City:

“After two successful seasons it’s time to step away and spend the added time with my young family.

Southwell City is a fantastic environment to challenge yourself and the facilities are second to none in the local area.

The squad is in a great place following promotion and a stable first season at Step 7. It is now ready to kick on again under new management and challenge the leading clubs at the top end of the division along with the opportunity for cup success.

The potential at Southwell City is huge and the opportunity to be part of that was a big pull.

I’ll be sad step away from a thoroughly enjoyable and engaging role but there are solid foundations in place for further success in the coming seasons. It will be a pleasure to watch on as a spectator at the future progress of the team and of the club as a whole.”
