Southwell City Under 11 Girls are enjoying a strong run of form after a slow start to the season. The team, made up of girls from four different local schools, needed time to settle, but their hard work soon paid off.
Improved performances led to a winning streak, pushing the team up the league and boosting confidence. With recent fixtures affected by poor weather, the girls are now eager to return to action and continue where they left off.
Coaches Joe Button and Brett Morris have been delighted with the team’s progress and commitment. The girls train every week at the Minster School, creating a supportive environment where friendships flourish alongside footballing skills. Parents and supporters have been brilliant throughout, providing encouragement from the sidelines through thick and thin.
Their success highlights the growing popularity of girls’ football, with more teams than ever taking to the pitch — a positive sign for the future of the game.
